LaserFoil Metallic Film for Laser Engraving
LaserFoil is a thin, adhesive-backed polyester Mylar film used to add metallic-looking colour to laser-engraved designs. Available in Black, Blue, Bright Gold, Green, Red and Silver, this laser engraving foil comes in a 150mm-wide roll. Choose the small 1,500mm roll or a larger 7,600mm roll for your engraving and craft projects.
Give laser-engraved lettering, details and decorative designs a coloured metallic finish. LaserFoil is an adhesive-backed material designed to add a distinctive appearance to suitable laser engraving projects, particularly when working with wood.
Choose Your Metallic Foil Colour
Select from Black, Blue, Bright Gold, Green, Red and Silver. Bright Gold is the polished, reflective gold shown in our photos, not a matte gold finish. Actual appearance may vary with lighting and your underlying material.
What Size LaserFoil Roll Do I Need?
- Small — 150 × 1,500mm: A convenient length for testing, prototypes and smaller projects.
- Large — 150 × 7,600mm: A longer roll for repeat work and larger quantities, available in every colour.
Choose your colour and the available roll size from the product options. Both roll sizes are selectable for all six colours.
What Is LaserFoil Made From?
This laser engraving foil is a thin polyester Mylar film with permanent adhesive. The manufacturer describes the adhesive as bonding well to wood. Surface preparation, substrate suitability and laser settings can affect the final result; test a sample before committing to a production job.
Recommended Laser Compatibility
Recommended for CO₂ laser engraving. LaserFoil may also be suitable for other laser technologies, but compatibility with other laser types has not been confirmed for this particular film. Always check your machine manufacturer's material-processing guidance and test a small sample before laser processing. Do not assume a polyester adhesive-backed film is safe for every laser or setup.
How to Apply LaserFoil
- Peel away the protective film before processing.
- Apply the adhesive side of the foil to your plywood, with the coloured side facing upwards.
- Prepare and process your design using appropriate, verified settings for your material and CO₂ laser.
As another option, cut the foil into decorative shapes and adhere them to suitable surfaces such as plywood or acrylic without assuming those assembled surfaces are suitable for laser processing. The supplier also describes direct application to leather; test adhesion and material compatibility before use.
Adhesive and Storage Conditions
The supplier specifies an oil-based acrylic adhesive and recommends storing LaserFoil at 15–30°C with 50–65% relative humidity. Keep rolls protected from wind, moisture, UV exposure and heavy pressure to help preserve their condition.
Uses for LaserFoil in Laser Engraving
Add metallic-looking colour to suitable engraved names, lettering, logos, plaques, awards and decorative projects. LaserFoil is a specialised engraving material rather than an ordinary craft vinyl, so follow the manufacturer's application and laser-processing guidance.
